Jean-Maurice-Émile Baudot is a French Engineer and Inventor.

 

1845 - Jean-Maurice-Émile Baudot was born 11th of September in Magneux, France.

 

1870 - Worked  for the French Telecommunications Service, where he invented the code.

 

1874 - Patented the Baudot code, used in telegraph systems.

 

1874-1875 - Perfected the electro-mechanical hardware to send his code.

 

1877 - Baudot invented press telegraph.

 

Invented the Baudot code, was one of the pioneers of telecommunications.

 

1894 - Allowed several messages to be sent along the same wire simultaneously (multiplexing).

 

The term "baud" (a measure of symbols transmitted per second) is named after Emile Baudot.

 

1903 - Jean-Maurice-Émile Baudot died 28th of March.
