1704 – Bathurst married his cousin, Catherine the daughter of Sir Peter Apsley.
1705-1711 – Educated at Trinity College, Oxford, and became member of parliament for Cirencester.
– Created Baron Bathurst of Battlesden, Bedfordshire.
1739 – His name is listed as a founding Governor on the royal charter of the Foundling Hospital, granted by king George II.
1742 – He was made a privy councillor.
1772 – Created Earl Bathurst, having previously received a pension of 2000 a year chargeable upon the Irish revenues.
1775 – He died 16th of September and was buried in Cirencester church.
