1711 - Laura Maria Caterina Bassi is a Italian physicist was born 31st of October.

 

1732 - Appointed professor of anatomy at the University of Bologna.

 

1733 - The 1st woman to occupy physics chair at any university (University of Bologna).

 

1734 - Chairman of philosophy in the University of Bologna.

 

1738 - She married Giuseppe Veratti.

 

One of the key figures in introducing Newton's ideas of physics and natural philosophy to Italy.

 

1745 - Lambertini established the Benedettini and appointed her to the final position, the only woman in the group.

 

1776 - Appointed to the chair in experimental physics by the Institute of Sciences.

 

1778 - Bassi died 20th of February.

 

Laura Maria Caterina Bassi was the first woman to officially teach at a college in Europe.
