1874 – Charlotta Amanda Spears Bass was born in Sumter, South Carolina, United States.

1910 – She moved to California.

1912-1915 – Bass published the California Eagle.

1952 – Bass became the first African-American woman to run for national office as the Progressive Party’s Vice Presidential candidate.

1968 – Bass died 12th of April because of a cerebral hemorrhage in Los Angeles.
