Bass, Charlotta
She was an American educator, newspaper publisher-editor, and civil rights activist.
1874 - Charlotta Amanda Spears Bass was born in Sumter, South Carolina, United States.
1910 - She moved to California.
1912-1915 - Bass published the California Eagle.
1952 - Bass became the first African-American woman to run for national office as the Progressive Party's Vice Presidential candidate.
1968 - Bass died 12th of April because of a cerebral hemorrhage in Los Angeles.
