1706 – John Baskerville is a English printer and typographer was born on the 28th of January.
1723 – He become a skilled engraver of tombstones and was teaching writing.
1726 – He moved to Birmingham and set up a school in the Bull Ring.
1738 – Set up a japanning business in Moor Street (japanning was an early form of enamelling), in which he
first showed his mettle as an innovator.
1758 – Baskerville printed works for Cambridge University.
1763 – Although an atheist, printed a splendid folio Bible.
He is best remembered as a printer and typographer.
1775 – John Baskerville died on the 8th of January.
