Basil the Great (Basilius the Great)
Basil the Great is a Greek saint and church father.
Went to Constantinople and spent four or five years there and at Athens, where he had Gregory Nazianzu.
365 - He was ordained presbyter of the Church at Caesarea.
370 - Eusebius, bishop of Caesarea, died, and Basil was chosen to succeed him.
- Basil entered into connections with the West, and with the help of Athanasius.
371 - He was reproached by the Orthodox zealots among the monks.
379 - Basil suffered from liver illness that cause for his early death.
- Basil the Great ios the brother of Gregory of Nyssa.
