1966 - Cecilia Bartoli is a Italian mezzo-soprano singer was born 4th of June.
1975 - Her first public performance was as a shepherd boy in Tosca.
1985 - Bartoli appeared in a talent show on Italian television; the conductor Riccardo Muti saw her performance and invited her to audition at La Scala.
1990 - Herbert von Karajan invited her to sing at the Salzburg Easter Festival.
1988 - Recorded Rosina in The Barber of Seville.
1990 - Worked with von Karajan on Bach's Mass in B Minor and her career developed rapidly.
1996 - Bartoli made her debut at the Metropolitan Opera as Despina in Così fan tutte.
1997 - Returned to Metropolitan Opera to sing the title role of La Cenerentola.
2005 - Cecilia Bartoli sang Cleopatra in Handel's Giulio Cesare, a role written for a soprano, but is in mezzo range.
