1882 - John Sidney Blyth Barrymore was born 15th of February in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

 

1889 - Expelled from Georgetown Preparatory School after being caught attending a bordello.

 

He gained fame as a Shakespearean, lauded for his Hamlet and for his Richard III.

 

1901-1902 - He courted showgirl Evelyn Nesbit.

 

1917 - Starred in the movie Raffles the Amateur Cracksman.

 

1920 - He was one of the lead actor in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

 

1931 - Barrymore starred in movies "Svengali"as Svengali.

 

1932 - He acted in the movie "Grand Hotel" as Baron Felix von Geigern.

 

1933 - Barrymore starred in the movie "Dinner at Eight" as Larry Renault.

 

1942 - John Sidney Blyth Barrymore died 29th of May in Los Angeles, California.

 

He is the brother of Ethel Barrymore and Lionel Barrymore.

 

Barrymore is the grandfather of Drew Barrymore.
