1859 - George Barnett was born 9th of December in Lancaster, Wisconsin USA.

1881 - George Barnett was graduated from U.S. Naval Academy.
1831 - He was transferred to the Marine Corps and was appointed a second lieutenant.
1890 - George Barnett served the USS Iroquois and was promoted to first lieutenant.
1896 - Barnett again went to sea, this time aboard the USS Vermont.
1897 - George Barnett was transferred to the USS San Francisco.

1898 - George Barnett became the captain and was transferred to the USS Chicago in November.
1901 - Captain Barnett came ashore for duty at Marine Corps Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
1904 - George Barnett rejoined the First Brigade of Marines.
1905 - Major Barnett was transferred from the Philippine Islands to Washington, D.C.
1914 - Barnett was appointed Major General Commandant of the Marine Corps.
1920 - George Barnett was relieved as Commandant of the Marine Corps.
1921 - Barnett was given the regular rank of Major General.
1923 - Major General Barnett retired on 9 December.
1930 - Major General George Barnett died on 27 April in Washington D.C., and was buried in the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
