1859 – George Nicoll Barnes was born 2nd of January in Lochee, Dundee.
1895 – Barnes joined the Independent Labour Party and unsuccessfully contested Rochdale.

1916-1917 – He was Minister of Pensions.
1917-1920 – George Nicoll served as Minister without Portfolio under David Lloyd George.
1940 – George Nicoll Barnes died 21st of April.
