Barnard, Edward Emerson
1857 - Edward Emerson Barnard was born 16th of December in Nashville, Tennessee USA.
1876 - He purchased a 5-inch refractor telescope.
1881 - Edward Emerson Barnard discovered his first comet.
- Barnard was married to the English-born woman Rhoda Calvert.
1892 - Edward Emerson Barnard discovered Amalthea.
1895 - Barnard joined the University of Chicago as professor of astronomy.
1897 - He was awarded Gold Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society.
1916 - Edward Emerson Barnard discovered the Barnard's star which is named in his honour.
1917 - He was awarded the Bruce Medal.
1919 - Barnard published his initial list with the paper in the Astrophysical Journal.
1923 - Edward Emerson Barnard died on February 6,in Williams Bay, Wisconsin, and was buried in Nashville.
