1857 – Born in Clontarf, County Dublin, Ireland. Jane Barlow, a well-known writer, who received the  honorary degree of D. Litt. from Dublin University.

1892-1913 – Some  of  her  works were: "Bogland Studies", "Irish Idylls", "Kerrigan’s Quality", "The End of Elfintown", "The Battle of the Frogs and Mice", "Mrs. Martin’s Company", "Creel of the Irish Stories", "From the Land of the Shamrock", "The Founding of Fortunes", and "Doings and Dealings".

1917 – Died on April 17th in Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland.
