Barkly, Henry, Sir

1815 - Sir Henry Barkly was born 24th of February in in Monteagle, Rossshire, Scotland.

1845-1848 - He represented Leominster in the British House of Commons.

1853 - Sir Henry Barkly was appointed Governor and commander-in-chief of British Guiana and Jamaica.

1856 - Barkly was appointed Governor of Victoria.

1863 - He was moved to the government of Mauritius.

1870 - Sir Henry Barkly was sent to the Cape of Good Hope as Governor.

1898 - Sir Henry Barkly died on the 20th of October.
