1927-1949 – Barkley is the U.S. Senator, Kentucky but he resigned 19th of January (1949).

1937-1947 – Served as Senate majority leader.

1938 – Alben William Barkley is the member of Alfalfa Club.

1947-1949 – Barkley became the Senate minority leader.

1949 – He was the 1st recipient of Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Award.

1949-1953 – He served as U.S. Vice President under Harry S. Truman.

1955-1956 – Alben William Barkley is the U.S. Senator, Kentucky.

1956 – Alben William Barkley died on 30th of April because of heart failure in Lexington, Virginia.
