1872 – Born on the 8th of July in farm near Old Moscow, Lamar County, Alabama.
1891 – Bankhead graduated from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa.
1893 – Graduated from law Department of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
1893 – Admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Jasper, Alabama.
1901-1903 – Served in the Alabama National Guard with rank of major.
1904-1905 – He becomes the member of the State house of representatives.
1911-1925 – Bankhead is the president of the Bankhead Coal Co.
1917-1919 – Bankhead became the board trustee of the University of Alabama.
1930 – Elected as a Democrat to the United States Senate.
1931-1946 – He is the Trustee of the University of Alabama.
1936 – Bankhead was re-elected to the United States Senate.
1946 – Bankhead died in the United States Naval Hospital on 12th of June.
