1800 - Born on the 3rd of October in Worcester, Massachusetts.
He finished High School in Phillips Exeter Academy.
Took up his college in Harvard University and University of Göttingen.
1827 - Married his first wife was Sarah Dwight, of a rich family in Springfield, Massachusetts.
1834-1874 - He wrote 10-volume history "History of the United States".
1844 - Democratic candidate for the governorship of Massachusetts, but he was defeated.
1845-1846 - He becomes the U.S. Secretary of the Navy Mar, under James Knox Polk.
1846 - He was sent as Minister Plenipotentiary to London.
1849 - Withdrew from public life, residing in New York and writing history.
1866 - Bancroft was chosen by Congress to deliver the special eulogy on Lincoln.
1867-1874 - Appointed minister to Berlin.
1867-1868 - He was the US Ambassador to Prussia.
1868-1874 - Served as US Ambassador to Germany
He become the U.S. Secretary of War Acting.
1891 - He died on 17th of January in Washington, DC.
