1926 – Born on the 6th of December in Hickory, North Carolina.
1944 – Finished high school in Episcopal High School, Alexandria, Virginia.
1945 – Attended at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
1948 – He finished BA, Amherst College.
1974-1976 – Ballenger served in the North Carolina State House of Representatives.
1976-1986 – He becomes North Carolina State Senate.
1986-2005 – He served as Congressman from North Carolina.
1990 – Established the Ballenger Foundation to raise funds for schools and hospitals in Central and South America.
Received humanitarian award from Fabretto Children’s Foundation, for his work.
