1930 – Ball earned a bachelor’s degree.


1933 – He earned the degree in law.


1952-1956 – Worked on Stevenson’s presidential campaigns.


1961 – He advised against sending U.S. troops to Vietnam.


1961-1966 – He was the under secretary of state.


1966 – Resigned from State to join the investment-banking firm of Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb.


1968 – Ball also served as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.


Lyndon B. Johnson nominated him to the post of U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.


1969 – Ball left the ambassadorship.


He served Lehman Brothers as senior managing director.


1994 – George Ball died and was buried in Princeton Cemetery.
