1930 - Ball earned a bachelor's degree.
1933 - He earned the degree in law.
1952-1956 - Worked on Stevenson's presidential campaigns.
1961 - He advised against sending U.S. troops to Vietnam.
1961-1966 - He was the under secretary of state.
1966 - Resigned from State to join the investment-banking firm of Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb.
1968 - Ball also served as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.
Lyndon B. Johnson nominated him to the post of U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.
1969 - Ball left the ambassadorship.
He served Lehman Brothers as senior managing director.
1994 - George Ball died and was buried in Princeton Cemetery.
