1980 - Baldwin graduated from Madison West High School.

1984 - Earned a bachelor's degree from Smith College.

1986-1994 - Elected to political office when she was elected to the Dane County, Wisconsin Board of Supervisors.

1989 - Finished her law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

1993-1999 - She served in the Wisconsin State Assembly.

1998 - Baldwin was elected to the House of Representative.

2004 - She spoke at the 2004 Democratic National Convention in prime time on the issue of health care.
