US pacifist and social reformer
1867 - Born on the 8th of January in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston.
1889 - Graduated and amongst the first graduates of Bryn Mawr College.
1896 - Balch joined the faculty of Wellesley College.
1913 - Became a full professor of economics and sociology.
Editor of The Nation, a well-known liberal news magazine.
Balch acted as secretary of the WILPF.
1920 - Became a Quaker. She never married.
1946 - She won Nobel Prize in Peace.
1961 - She died on 9th of January in Cambridge, MA because of Pneumonia.
Co-founded Women's International League for Peace and Freedom with Jane Addams.
