1821 - Born on the 8th June in London, England.
1843 - Married Henrietta Biddulph Martin, daughter of the rector of Maisemore.
1847 - Founded an agricultural settlement at Nuwara Eliya, a mountain health resort.
1853 - Published The Rifle and the Hound in Ceylon.
1855 - Published the Eight Years' Wanderings in Ceylon.
1861 - Started upon his first tour of exploration in central Africa.
1862 - Baker follow up the course of the White Nile.
1865 - Baker returned back to Khartoum.
1869 - Traveled with King Edward VII (who was the Prince of Wales at that time) through Egypt.
1874 - Baker published his narrative of the central African expedition under the title of Ismailia.
1890 - He published the Wild Beasts and their Ways.
1893 - Baker died on 30th of December at Sandford Orleigh.
