1953 – Won in the Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway.
1956-1957 – He won back-to-back of the Grand National (now Nextel Cup) Championship.
1960 – He got to won again in the Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway.
1964 – Elzie Wylie Baker won the Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway.
1967 – Baker switched to NASCAR’s Grand American division, where he was also very successful.
1976 – opened up the Buck Baker Racing School.
1982 – National Motorsports Press Association’s Hall of Fame.
1998 – He was named one of the NASCAR’s 50 Greatest Drivers.
2002 – Buck Baker died on 14th of April at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N. Carolina.
