Bachus, Spencer Thomas III

1947 - Spencer Thomas Bachus III was born 28th of December in Birmingham.

1972 - Graduated from Auburn University, where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Tau social fraternity.

1983 - Elected to the Alabama Senate serving one term.

1987-1991 - Served as the 6th District's representative on the state board of education.

1991 - Became Chairman of the Alabama Republican Party.

1993 - Republican member of the United States House of Representatives, representing Alabama's 6th Congressional District.

2005 - He made the news for alleging that comedian Bill Maher says "treasonous comments" on his show when delivering a joke about the Army's inability to hit its quota on new recruits.
