1924 - Born on the 16th of September in New York City.
- She was an usherette briefly, then got a couple of minor stage jobs and she was strikingly handsome - several modelling assignments. One Harper's Bazaar cover was seen by Howard Hawks, who tested her and signed her to a seven-year contract.
1944 - Hawks began to see her potential more clearly, and when he and Warners cast her opposite Humphrey Bogart in To Have and Have Not he moulded her into a younger female Bogart though he let her often make her own decisions.
1945-1948 - Confidential Agent was in fact set in pre-war Britain, with Bacall as a local girl who aids Spanish Republican Charles Boyer, thrillers as The Big Sleep (1946) and Key Largo (1948).
1957 - Bogart's past away, she turned to the stage.
1961-1969 - She married to the actor Jason Robards Jr.
1970-1976 - Broadway successes including the musical Applause for which she received a Tony award. Films include Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Shootist (1976, BAFTA)
1979 - Her autobiography, By Myself, was an international best-seller.
1988 - Starred in the movies are Mr North, Appointment with Death.
1996 - The Mirror Has Two Faces she got the Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination.
1999-2005 - Starred in the movies Diamonds, Dogville and Birth(2004), Volume two By Myself released(2005).
2006 - Attend in the 78th Annual Academy Awards featuring a film montage served to the film noir genre.
- She also did cameo appearance on The Sopranos in April.
- In September, Bacall was awarded the first Katharine Hepburn Medal, which recognizes "women whose lives, work and contributions embody the intelligence, drive and independence of the four-time-Oscar-winning actress," by Bryn Mawr College's Katharine Houghton Hepburn Center.
