Avril, Prosper
1937 - Born on the 12th of December in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
1986 - Served as a member of Haiti's interim ruling body, the National Council of Government, following the departure of Jean-Claude Duvalier.
1988-1990 - He served as President.
2001 - He was arrested, shortly after Jean-Bertrand Aristide was elected President, for allegedly plotting against the state.
- He was kept in jail despite two court decisions ordering his release.
2004 - He was freed when Aristide was ousted in February.
