1897 - Born on April 24th in the city of Teziutlán, a small town in Puebla. Mexican soldier and moderate statesman whose presidency saw a consolidation of the social reforms of the Mexican Revolution and the beginning of an unprecedented period of friendship with the United States.

1914 - He joined the army of Venustiano Carranza and rose rapidly through the ranks.

1938 - Under Lázaro Cárdenas he became minister of national defense.

1940-1946 - Elected as President of Mexico.

         - During World War II, he cooperated with the United States in programs of hemisphere defense, reciprocal trade, and agricultural labor exchange and sent a Mexican air squadron to fight in the Pacific.

1955 - Died on October 13th in Estado de México.
