1897 – Born at Hammersmith Farm in Newport, Rhode Island on the 15th of August.

1920 – Auchincloss graduated from Yale University.

1924 – Earned a law degree from Columbia University.

         – He served in the US Navy during World War I and worked for the Office of Naval Intelligence and the War Department during World War II.

         – Auchincloss was responsible for the then Jacqueline Bouvier getting her first job in journalism at the Washington Times-Herald.

1953 – He gave her away at her wedding to future president John F. Kennedy, which was held at Hammersmith Farm on the 12th of September.

1976 – Died on the 20th of November.
