Athulathmudali, Lalith William Samarasekera
1936 - Born on November 26th in Sri Lanka. Lalith Athulathmudali was a Sri Lankan politician who advocated that true freedom can only come through participatory democracy and respect for human rights.
1982 - Married to Srimani Athulathmudali.
1991 - Athulathmudali was a member of the United National Party (UNP) and at one time a cabinet member in President Premadasa's government.
- Ahulathmudali joined with members of the opposition in supporting impeachment proceedings against the President.
1993 - On April 23rd, the opposition party leader Mr. Lalith Athulathmudali was assassinated at an election rally held in the town of Kirullapone.
