1884 - Born this year and was a native of Buffalo, New York.

 

1912 - Graduate of the University of Buffalo.

 

         - He also attended the University of Pennsylvania where he was a track star.

 

1914 - 1920 - He coached track and cross country at the University of Maine, Michigan State and Iowa State as well as the U.S. Olympic squads going to Sweden and Paris.

 

1924 - 1961 - He coached track at West Virginia University.

 

1952 - He was honored for his long service by the IC4A in New York, by the University of Main at the 40th anniversary reunion of that school"s only national championship team.

 

1957 - Awarded by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association at its victory awards dinner.

 

1961 - Died this year at age 77.
