1717 – He was born on the 13th day fo October this year in Brookbor, Country Fermanagh, Ireland.

 

1756 – He rendered distinguished service in the Continental Army on the 8th day of September this year.

 

1776 – He became commissioned brigadier general this year.

 

1777 – He was appointed a major general of the Pennsylvania State Militia. He served throughout the Revolutionary War, with the exception of the term of his congressional service on the 4th day of April this year.

 

1779 – He was a Member of the Continental Congress up to year 1780.

 

1795 – He died on the 9th day of March this year in Carlisle, Pa., Interment in Old Carlisle Cemetery.
