1934 - Born on July 11th in Piacenza, Emilia-Romagna, Italy.
1953 - He joined the Italian Army.
1970 - Armani worked as a freelance fashion designer for various companies.
1974 - Founded his own fashion house with his cohabited partner, Sergio Galeotti, a young architect.
- Giorgio Armani's first collection proved a triumphant crystallization of those early inspirations.
1975 - Together with Sergio Galeotti, his long-time friend and a great businessman, founded Giorgio Armani S.p.A. and created his own label of men's and women's ready-to-wear clothing.
1978 - Launched the Giorgio Armani Le Collezioni men's and women's wear in the US and Canada.
1979 - Giorgio Armani Corporation USA was established.
1980 - He designed the costumes for American Gigolo starring Richard Gere.
1981 - Armani launched Emporio Armani, with first store opening in Milan.
1982 - He became the second fashion designer to appear on the cover of Time magazine.
1985 - Mr. Armani's long-time friend and business associate, Sergio Galeotti, died of cancer.
1986 - Opened the first Armani Junior boutique (Milano).
