67 – He usurped power from his brother John Hyrcanus II but did not prevail long.

66-63 BC – He was the Jewish High Priest and King of Judea, from the Hasmonean Dynasty.

64 – Pompey the Great helped John Hyrcanus II to regain his kingdom.

49 – He was carried captive to Rome, where he was assassinated.
