1520 - Born on March 17th in Dijon, France. A theoretician and historian of the dance.

1530 - He was ordained a priest.

1574 - He became a canon at Langres, where he was encouraged to pursue his studies by the Jesuits, who considered dance to be educationally important.

1588 - Wrote Orchésographie which contains carefully detailed, step-by-step descriptions of 16th-century and earlier dance forms.

1595 - Died on July 23rd in Langres.
