1894 - Born in Alegrete, State of Rio Grande do Sul. Brazilian diplomat and politician
1925 - Aranha started his public career as Mayor of his native town, and later on was elected representative in his State legislature.
1928 - He was also Federal representative for the State of Rio Grande do Sul and the Secretary of the Interior of the same state.
1930-1931 - Became the acting governor.
- Mr. Aranha was chosen Minister of justice and Interior and Minister of Finance.
1934-1937 - He was majority leader of the Constituent Assembly and a member of the Commission which prepared the draft Constitution.
- He was appointed Brazilian Ambassador to the United States.
1938 - He was Minister for External Relations.
1947-1948 - Was president of UN General Assembly.
1960 - He died in Rio de Janeiro.
