1865 - Born on the 2nd of April in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.
1887 - He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Ottawa.
1888 - Studied law at the Law Society of Upper Canada (which in those days taught law) and was called to the bar establishing a practice in Toronto.
1896 - He became Clerk of the Surrogate Court of Ontario.
1904 - He was appointed to the Exchequer Division of the High Court of Justice of Ontario.
1909 - Appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada.
1924 - 1933 - He was Chief Justice of Canada.
1933 - Died on the 2nd of March.
