1926 – Born on November 25th in Bristol, Pennsylvania. American science-fiction writer, was the prolific author of more than 100 books of science fiction and fantasy.

         – One of the most respected science fiction authors of the 20th century.

1947 – While still as student at the University of Minnesota that he published his first story.

1948 – Educated at the University of Minnesota where he gained a degree in physics.

1953 – Married to Karen Kruse on December 12th.

         – Among his many fine novels are Brain Wave, The Avatar, War of the Wing-Men and The Boat of a Million Years.

1972 – Poul Anderson was a former President of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, Guest of Honor at the World Science Fiction Convention, and the winner of three Nebula Awards and seven Hugo Awards.

1997 – He was awarded S.F.W.A.’s Grandmaster Award.

2000 – He was inducted into the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame.

2001 – Died of complications of prostate cancer on July 31st in Orinda, California.
