1959 - Born on December 25th in Plattsburgh, New York. American Mission Specialist Astronaut.
1977 - Graduated from Cheney High School in Cheney, Washington.
1981 - Received his bachelor of science degree in physics/astronomy from University of Washington.
- Anderson graduated form the University of Washington and was commissioned a second lieutenant.
1983 - Recipient of the Armed Forces Communication Electronics Associations Academic Excellence Award.
1986 - He was selected to attend Undergraduate Pilot Training at Vance AFB, Oklahoma.
1990 - Earned his Master of science degree in physics from Creighton University.
1991-1992 - He served as an aircraft commander and instructor pilot in the 920th Air Refueling Squadron, Wurtsmith AFB Michigan.
- He was assigned as a instructor pilot and tactics officer in the 380 Air Refueling Wing, Plattsburgh AFB New York.
1995 - Selected by NASA in December, Anderson reported to the Johnson Space Center in March.
- He completed a year of training and evaluation, and is qualified for flight crew assignment as a mission specialist.
1998 - STS-89, was the eighth Shuttle-Mir docking mission during which the crew transferred more than 8,000 pounds of scientific equipment, logistical hardware and water from Space Shuttle Endeavour to Mir.
2003 - Died on February 1st. Perished in Columbia shuttle disintegration during re-entry.
- Shuttle Columbia and its seven astronauts were lost when the vehicle broke up over north central Texas during its re-entry from orbit.
