1901 - Born on June 18th in Peterhof (now Petrodvorets), Russia . The youngest daughter of Nicholas II, Anastasia became extremely famous for numerous claimants, who had been popping up in the West after the murder of the Russian Tsar family.
1917 - Nicholas abdicated the throne and was placed under house arrest at the Alexander Palace.
1918 - Died from execution on July 17th in Ekaterenburg, Russia.
- Russian Orthodox Church in Russia canonized the Romanovs as saints.
- Various people later claimed to be Anastasia, especially Mrs ‘Anna Anderson’ Manahan, from the Black Forest, who died in Virginia, USA at the age of 82.
