1846 - Born on June 22nd in Boston. He achieved prominence as an educator and concentrated his career efforts at Harvard. 

 

1868 - He was a graduate of Harvard College.

 

         - Ames began his teaching career as an instructor for a private school in Boston.

1871-1872 - Ames earned a master of arts degree and attended Harvard Law School.
 

1873 - Graduated at Harvard Law School.

 

         - He became associate professor at Harvard.

 

1877 - He became a professor at Harvard.

 

1895 - He was the Dean of Harvard Law School.

 

1899 - He received his doctor of laws degrees from the University of Pennsylvania.  

 

1903-1904 - Earned his doctor of laws degrees from the Northwestern University and Harvard.
