Ambartsumyan, Viktor Amazaspovich

1908 - Born on September 18th in Georgia and educated at the University of Leningrad, now St. Petersburg State University. 

1947-1993 - He was president of Armenian Academy of Sciences.

         - He worked at the Pulkovo Observatory, the Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory (BAO), which he founded and directed, Erevan University.

         - He was the president of International Astronomical Union.
