1956 – Marin Alsop was born on the 16th of October.

1989 – She won the Koussevitzky Conducting Prize at the Tanglewood Music Center.

1991 – She was a music director of the Cabrillo Music Festial in Santa Cruz, California.

1993 – She was a music director of the Colorado Symphony where her innovative programming has won severalnational awards.

1999 – Made her debut with the New York Philharmonic at the Lincoln Center was described by the New York Times as supple, vibrant and an impassioned performance.

2005 – She was appoited to lead the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra on July 2005. She was the first conductor who received the MacArthur Fellowship on the 20th of September.
