1936 – Almond was born in Rhode Island on the 6th of June.
1954 – Attended and graduated from Central Falls High School.
1959 – Received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Rhode Island.
1961 – Received his law degree from Boston University.
1963 – He was appointed Town Administrator of Lincoln, Rhode Island.
1969 – Appointed as United States attorney.
1981-1993 – He was re-appointed by President Reagan as United States attorney.
1994 – He was elected Governor of the State of Rhode Island with a four-year term.
1995 – He was able to talk to Fidelity Investments to build a major facility in northern Rhode Island.
1997 – Became the Chair of the New England Governors’ Conference.
1998-2003 – He was re-elected as governor and became Chair of the Coalition of Northeastern Governors.
