1946 – Alliot-Marie was born in Val-de-Marne, France on September 10, 1946.
1980 – Holds a doctorate of law, a doctorate in political science and master’s degree in ethnology.
1983 – Elected as a municipal councillor in the town of Ciboure. She was elected representative to the National Assembly.
1986 – Appointed by Jacques Chirac as Secretary of State and junior minister working under the Minister of National Education.
1989 – Elected as a municipal councillor in the town of Biarritz and became a Member of the European Parliament.
1992 – Elected as Mayor of Saint-Jean-de-Luz.
1993 – Became Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports under Edouard Balladur.
1999 – Became the President of Rally for the Republic (Rassemblement pour la Republique).
2002 – Elected as the Minister of Defense, she is the first woman to hold the position.
