Allen, Horace Newton

1858 – Horace Newton Allen was born in Delaware, Ohio on August 23, 1858.

1878 – Attended Ohio Wesleyan University in Ohio and Miami Medical College in Miami.

1884 – He served as a diplomat and established Protestant mission in Korea.

1897-1905 – He was a U.S. Minister in Korea. He published Korean Tales, A Chronological Index of the Foreign Relations of Korea from the Beginning of the Christian Era to the Twentieth Century, and Supplement. In the year 1901, he became the United States Minister Plenipotentiary to the Korean Empire.

1908 – Published his work entitled Things Korean.

1932 – He died on December 11, 1932.
