1918 - George Herbert Allen was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 29, 1918.

 

1948 - He became a coach to Morningside College in Iowa.

 

1951-1956 - He coached Whittier College in California.

 

1957 - He joined the Los Angeles Rams staff.

 

1958 - He was hire as personnel director and assistant coach with the Chicago Bears by George Halas.

 

1962 - He became the Bears' defensive coordinator.

 

1963 - He helped the team's defense dethrone the two-time champion Green Bay Packers.

 

1965 - He was hired as head coach of the Los Angeles Rams.

 

1967 - He received the Coach of the Year honors for leading the Rams to the NFL COastal Division title.

 

1971-1977 - He became the coach of the Washington Redskins.

 

1981 - He had contructed Halas.

 

1990 - He died in Palos Verdes Estates, California on December 31, 1990.
