Allawi, Iyad (Iyad Alawi)

1945 - Allawi was born in Iraq.

1960 - Pursued a medical course at a medical school in Baghdad.

1971 - Continued his medical education at London.

1975 - He resigned from the Baath party.

1978 - He was attacked at his Surrey home and believed to be planned by Saddam Hussein.

1980 - Organized an opposition network to work against Saddam Hussein.

1990 - Announced the formation of the Iraqi National Accord.

2004 - Became the Interim Prime Minister of Iraq.
