1598 – Alessandro Algardi was born in Bologna on the 31th of July.

1625 – He went to Rome with an introduction from the Duke of Mantua to the late pope’s nephew.

1635 – His first major commission for a public work in marble.

1644 – He was employed by the Pope and the pope’s nephew, Camillo Pamphilj.

1650 – He met Diego Velasquez.

1654 – He died in Rome on the 10th June.
