Alfven, Hugo

1872 - Hugo Alfven was born in Stockholm on the 1st of May.

1887-1891 - He studied at the Music Conservatory with the violin as his main instrument.

1890-1892 - He was a violinist in the Royal Opera Orchestra.

1897 - He started travelling in Europe.

1897-1892 - He continued his violin studies with Cesar Thomson in Brussels.

1903 - He wrote Midsommarvak

1908 - He was a member of the Royal Academy of Music.

1910 - He was the musi director at the University of Uppsala.

1912 - He married to Marie Triepcke.

1917 - He was made hon. Ph.D. Uppsala University.

1936 - He married again after his divorce from Marie to Carin Wessberg.

1947 - He directed the male voice choir Orphei Drangar.

1959 - He married to Anna Lund after Carin died.

1960 - He died on the 8th of May.
