1875 - Alfano was born in Naples, Italy on March 8, 1875.
1880-1885 - Attended piano lessons under Alessandro Longo, composition lessons under Camillo de Nardis and harmony lessons under Paulo Serrao at the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory.
1885 - Pursued a higher level of composition studies with Hans Sitt and Salomon Jadassohn in Leipzig.
1896 - Completed his first opera entitled Miranda, wrote a libretto and novel.
1904 - Finished the Risurrezione based on Tolstoy.
1918 - Became Director of the Conservatory of Bologna.
1923 - Directed the Turin Conservatory.
1926 - Completed Giacomo Puccini's unfinished opera entitled "Turandot".
1954 - Died in San Remo on October 27, 1954.
