Alexander VIII (Pietro Vito Ottoboni)

1610 - Ottoboni was born in Venice, Italy on April 22, 1610.

1627 - Received his doctorate in canon and civil law.

1630 - Became Governor of Terni, Rieti and Spoleto.

1652 - Appointed Cardinal by Pope Innocent X and later became bishopric of Brescia.

1689 - Succeeded Pope Innocent XI on October 6, 1689.

1690 - Condemned the doctrines of the so-called philosophical sin, taught in the Jesuit schools.

1691 - Died in Rome, Italy on February 1, 1691.
